Are you a skilled Commercial Maintenance Technician, looking for a full-time opportunity to showcase your talents and be a part of a stable, yet growing company? Look no further! Van Buskirk Companies is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Commercial Maintenance Technician to join our Commercial Property Maintenance team.

As a Maintenance Technician you’ll play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and repair of Van Buskirk Companies’ commercial properties while maintaining high standards and exceptional customer service.

What You’ll Do:

• Building Maintenance: Perform general and preventive maintenance and repair work across VBC’s commercial properties as well as 3rd party properties. Assist with HVAC and refrigeration systems. Repair and maintain locks, keys, and access systems.
• Landscape and Groundskeeping: Conduct lawn and landscaping tasks, trimming trees, planting, weeding, watering, minor sprinkler repairs, and limited snow removal.
• Clean-up: Perform daily clean-up duties, such as trash removal and litter control from property grounds and parking lots.
• Tenant Request: Respond to tenant service calls, ensuring efficient and exceptional customer service.
• Service Records and Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of maintenance time and activities, and inventory supplies. Research and source materials from cost-effective vendors.
• Cost Accounting: Use electronic systems to record and track maintenance time and costs for billing purposes.

What We’re Looking For:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications are a plus.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant maintenance experience, preferably in commercial property management or a similar role.
• Valid driver’s license and insurance for frequent travel between job sites.
• Proficiency in general maintenance methods, including the use of hand and power tools.
• Working knowledge of construction trades, including carpentry, plumbing, painting, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read technical manuals and drawings to diagnose and troubleshoot issues.
• Resourceful problem‑solving skills and adaptability to unconventional challenges.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety protocols.
• Professional verbal communication skills for courteous and responsive interactions with tenants, vendors, and colleagues.

What You’ll Need:

• Physical ability to see, hear, and consistently lift and carry up to 50 lbs. (up to 100 lbs. with assistance).
• Mobility and endurance for frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling and ladder climbing.
• Manual dexterity and skilled hand‑eye coordination to operate tools and equipment.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors, including in extreme weather conditions.
