Job summary

Colliers in Appleton, WI is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician to care for our commercial property portfolio. The role emphasizes hands-on maintenance, safety, and reliable building systems operation for a fast-paced environment.

You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain pumps, electrical and mechanical equipment, support installations, and respond to emergencies while upholding our safety standards and customer service commitments.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in building maintenance.
• Comfortable using technology such as smartphones and tablets for work orders.
• Knowledge of general maintenance methods and processes.
• Working knowledge of tools, appliances, and common devices.
• Strong manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.
• Good physical condition and ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work outdoors, and stand for long periods.
• Willingness to work overtime and participate in on-call rotations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain building systems and equipment
• Service pumps, valves, pneumatic controls, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic devices
• Assist with installation and modification of building equipment and systems
• Replace and repair building finishes such as ceiling tiles, door hardware, wallpaper, and paint
• Evaluate maintenance operations and make recommendations for upgrades or cost-saving measures
• Safely operate tools and equipment used in facility maintenance
• Respond promptly to emergency situations and service requests
• Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe conditions and preventive maintenance needs
• Maintain and operate fire and life safety systems, including fire alarms and related equipment
• Use technology effectively, including smartphones, tablets, computers, web-based applications, and building automation systems
