Job summary

Novonesis in Madison, Wisconsin is hiring a Maintenance Technician to perform repairs and preventative maintenance on cGMP process equipment and facility systems. You will document activities, support start-ups, and uphold GMP/SOPs in a regulated manufacturing environment.

The role requires an Associates degree or equivalent and 2+ years in FDA-regulated settings, with a focus on problem-solving, teamwork, and willingness to work varied shifts. Pay range is $25-$38/hour, with strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in an FDA-regulated or controlled manufacturing environment.
• Knowledgeable in GMP, inspection guidelines, sanitation, food regulations, and product safety.
• Excellent communication, organizational, planning, problem-solving and follow-up skills.
• Ensures optimum operation of all production equipment and machinery by trouble shooting, diagnosing and repairing any problems in a timely manner and performing scheduled Preventative Maintenance.
• Demonstrates excellence in all typical maintenance functions and functional understanding of motors, valves, heat exchangers, instrumentation, pumps, agitators, seal replacement, chillers, boilers, variety of tools, gear pullers, hydraulic press, drilling and tapping new threads, and office space related maintenance.
• Ability to work effectively as a team player and continuous learner. Positive attitude and willingness to teach operators and others about process equipment
• Ability to comply with company policies and procedures and maintain regular work attendance.
• Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts, as required.
• Provide on-call support on an as needed basis.
• Other duties as required.

Responsibilities

• Repairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment typical of a probiotic manufacturing facility.
• Collaborating with co-workers to determine root cause of failures and implementing corrective actions.
• Completing required documentation for maintenance and start-up in line with cGMP.
• Maintaining operation of cGMP utility equipment (HVAC, Dust Collection, Coolers, Air Compressors, Lighting, Electrical, Water/Plumbing).
• Responding to unscheduled downtime events and documenting activities.
• Inventory and requisitioning parts and supplies to maintain stock levels.
• Supporting training of maintenance and operations staff.
• Providing setup/start-up support for operators as needed.
• Assisting in efficiency improvements and cost-saving projects.
• Adhering to cGMP and SOPs and reporting discrepancies.
• Writing or modifying PM procedures.
