Job summary

The City of Scottsdale is seeking a Maintenance Technician - CDL to perform street maintenance. The role requires a valid Arizona driver’s license and the ability to obtain a Class B CDL within six months.

Annual salary is placed around the stated midpoint, with standard benefits and a focus on outdoor work in our community. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and at least three years of related experience, along with preferred safety certifications for work zones.

This position performs semi-skilled and skilled work in the maintenance of streets.

Anticipated starting salary for this position may be up to mid-point depending on candidate’s experience and internal equity. The full salary range is listed above and mid-point for this position is $29.58/hour.

Education and Experience:

• A high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent.
• Three years of related experience.

Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements:

• Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted Arizona driver's license with no major citations within the past 39 months prior to the start date.
• Must possess or obtain a Class "B" Commercial Driver License (CDL) within six months of their date of hire or promotion and will be subject tounannounced alcohol and drug testing as required by law.
• Preferred: American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) Traffic Control Technician Certification or International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Work Zone Temporary Traffic Control Technician Certification.
• Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.

Other pertinent licenses and/or certifications may be required of some positions depending on department/section assignment.
