Job summary

Post Road Management is seeking a Property Maintenance Technician to keep our rental communities in excellent condition. You will address repairs, perform preventive maintenance, and respond to resident needs with timely, professional service.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience in carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical basics, plus the ability to estimate quotes and manage timelines and budgets.

Qualifications

• Understanding of residential construction, home/apartment remodeling, and basic plumbing and electrical systems.
• Experience in carpentry, painting, drywall, and time management.
• Ability to provide accurate quotes and complete work on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Carpentry & repairs: wallboard, countertops, cabinets, doors/windows, tile; vinyl floor and base installation.
• General maintenance: minor electrical, plumbing, appliance, heating/air issues; painting and repairs.
• Property operations: work orders, turnovers, inspections; on-call emergencies.
• Preventive maintenance: perform assigned tasks to ensure safety and functionality.
• Communication & collaboration: coordinate with property manager, residents, vendors, inspectors, staff.

What You’ll Do:

As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our properties are well-maintained and that residents’ needs are addressed promptly and professionally. Your ability to prioritize tasks, solve problems, and communicate effectively will contribute to the overall success of the property.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carpentry & Repairs: Perform general carpentry duties such as wallboard repair, countertop/cabinet replacement, finish carpentry, window and door repairs, and ceramic tile repair. Assist with vinyl floor, cove, and wall base installation.
• General Maintenance: Handle minor electrical, plumbing, appliance, and heating/air issues that do not require a license. Perform painting and other repairs as needed.
• Property Operations: Assist with daily operations such as work orders, apartment turnovers, and inspections. Respond to emergency maintenance calls, including on-call shifts as required.
• Preventive Maintenance: Execute assigned preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the safety and functionality of the property.
• Communication & Collaboration: Work closely with the property manager and foster positive relationships with residents, vendors, contractors, inspectors, and staff. Provide timely updates and communicate clearly on work orders and maintenance tasks.
