Job summary

Republic Services in Metairie, LA seeks a Maintenance Technician C to perform preventive maintenance on diesel and non-diesel vehicles under supervision. You will contribute to keeping our fleet on the road with routine servicing and small repairs, ensuring reliability for our drivers.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of experience, a basic knowledge of vehicle systems, and the ability to follow procedures. ASE T8 PM or diesel certs are a plus; a valid driver’s license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of a certified diesel maintenance program is a plus but not required.
• ASE Certification T8 PM is a plus but not required.
• 1-3 years of experience.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures and troubleshoot common faults.
• Valid Driver’s License is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a basic knowledge of a vehicle's mechanical and electrical systems to perform basic preventive maintenance and some repair functions.
• Oil changes and fluids replenishment; tire changes and light repairs.
• Basic electrical work, such as light changes.
• Conduct visual inspections to identify issues and sources of malfunctions; follow safety and SOPs.
