Deborah's Place maintains and improves agency buildings, handling preventive maintenance, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and janitorial tasks. The role supports facility reliability and safety across multiple sites, with collaboration from the Chief Maintenance Engineer and vendors.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of maintenance and property management experience, knowledge of HVAC, and a valid Illinois driver’s license.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
HVAC certification preferred.
2-3 years as a maintenance engineer with property management exp.; HVAC, electrical, plumbing, painting experience.
Strong reading of schematics, ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance plans for buildings, grounds, equipment, and vehicles.
Complete work orders timely; provide daily updates on repairs.
Perform carpentry, painting, plumbing, and other tasks (e.g., apartment turnovers).
Ensure tools and equipment are properly stored and organized.
Assist in planning with the Chief Maintenance Engineer for ongoing maintenance.
Maintain inventory control and procure supplies from vendors as needed.
Collaborate with vendors to complete work orders and document work.
