Job summary

Galls, LLC is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine maintenance and assist higher level staff under supervision of a manager or journeyman. Responsibilities include building and grounds upkeep, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, pneumatics and electronics to keep tools and equipment in good working order.

duties include repairs, preventive maintenance, set-up of machine tools and safe operation, with emphasis on safety and timely completion of work orders in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Over 1 year of maintenance experience or equivalence.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment.
• Familiarity with power and hand tools and measuring tools.
• Knowledge of plumbing parts, electrical fittings, pneumatic tubing fittings.
• Strong safety record and adherence to safety practices.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and retrieval.
• Basic English reading and writing skills.
• Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, drawings and diagrams.
• Willingness to adapt to new technologies and learn.
• Clear written and spoken communication; teamwork with internal/external customers.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance on building, equipment and machines to ensure a safe, productive environment.
• Service and replace minor plumbing fixtures.
• Perform minor electrical work not requiring a licensed electrician.
• Carry out carpentry and repair work.
• Apply paint, varnish or stain to surfaces and protect/beautify them.
• Keep building grounds clean inside and out.
• Complete projects and work orders within set time frames.
• Conduct preventative maintenance by cleaning, lubricating and replacing components as needed.
• Set up and operate machine tools carefully to avoid damage.
• Report faulty equipment or safety concerns to Area Manager.
• Respond to emergency situations after hours as required.
• Observe safety rules and maintain a neat work area.
• Safeguard work area and equipment during repairs.
