Job summary

Barnes is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to repair and maintain machinery and equipment. This role involves diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, testing performance, and performing preventive maintenance.

You will install and adjust electrical components, read blueprints, work safely with confined spaces, and collaborate with the team to schedule and complete work.

Qualifications

  • Must have knowledge in motor controls, electronics, blueprint and schematics reading, CNC Repair and a mechanical background.
  • Must be able to communicate with all level of personnel effectively and be a team player.
  • Able to use basic math for operations including fractions, decimals or percentages.
  • Able to use own resources to assure quality workmanship and take responsibility for own work.
  • Must have a safety background with Lockout/Tagout, Electrical Safety, Crane Safety and Confined Spaces.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs occasionally and 50 lbs overhead.
  • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Performs various skilled tasks in the repair and maintenance of machinery and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair machines (mechanical and electrical).
  • Test, maintain, repair and evaluate equipment performance using instruments such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, pyrometers and pressure gauges.
  • Installs electrical conduit, wiring, switching devices, controls, outlets, fixtures, motors and other equipment, compliant with electrical code.
  • Checks and repairs pumps, fans, valves and motors.
  • Adjusts, repairs and replaces electrical and electronic pneumatic relays.
  • Prepares accurate records for preventive maintenance.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as scheduled.
  • Interact with associates in scheduling and performing work.
