Job summary

GBP Maintenance and Construction Inc in the Boston area is seeking an experienced handyman/maintenance technician to perform broad maintenance tasks year-round. The role requires versatility across carpentry, drywall, masonry, basic electrical and plumbing, window/door/lock repairs, painting and related duties, with on-call emergencies in evenings and weekends.

Candidates should have 5+ years of property maintenance experience, a valid driver’s license, own tools, and be able to work 40+ hours

Qualifications

• 5+ years property maintenance (preferred)
• Proficient in general maintenance tasks, including basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry
• Interpersonal skills to interact with residents, management, and contractors
• Problem-solving: diagnose issues and determine solutions efficiently
• Physical: lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and perform physically demanding tasks

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance tasks in the greater Boston area.
• Carpentry, drywall, masonry, and minor electrical and plumbing repairs.
• Window, door, and lock repairs; painting and cleaning.
• Snow removal and landscaping as needed.
• Respond to emergencies on on-call rotation; maintain professionalism.

Tired of rain days and low hours/pay? Come work for a maintenance company with work all year round and benefits. We are looking for an experienced handyman/maintenance technician to join our team for the greater Boston area. Individual will be required to perform maintenance tasks that include, but are not limited to; general maintenance, carpentry, drywall, masonry, minor electrical and plumbing repairs, window, door and lock repairs, painting, cleaning, snow removal, landscaping, picking up and delivering supplies, etc...

All members of the team are in a weekly "on-call" rotation to deal with emergencies on evenings and weekends. This position reports to the Director of Maintenance on a daily basis. Applicants must be able to demonstrate a certain level of skill in these areas and be able to perform these tasks in a professional manner.

Qualifications:

• Property maintenance: 5+ years (Preferred)
• Technical Skills: Proficient in general maintenance tasks, including basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
• Interpersonal: Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with residents, management, and contractors.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose issues and determine appropriate solutions efficiently.
• Physical Requirements: Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders, and performing tasks that require physical exertion.

Salary Description

$25 - $40 Hourly

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• A valid driver's license
• Your own set of tools (all basics for today’s work, nothing extravagant required)
• Smartphone

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Available to work 40+ hours a week including nights and weekends when required
• High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.

• Due to on-call responsibilities, candidates must reside within a 30-minute commute of Boston.
