Job summary

Pine Street Inn is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to perform day-to-day maintenance including grounds, plumbing, minor electrical work, carpentry, HVAC troubleshooting and equipment service. The role covers wall repair, PM tasks, painting and seasonal snow removal in a Dorchester facility.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, three years of maintenance experience, and ability to lift heavy objects. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of painting, plumbing, carpentry and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day maintenance including grounds work, plumbing, minor electrical work, carpentry, and basic troubleshooting of HVAC and food service equipment.
• Handle wall repairs, Building Engine PM, painting, special projects and seasonal snow removal.
• Assist with emergency on-call rotations as required.

SCHEDULE

40 hours, Monday - Friday 7:30- 4:00 with availability for on call rotation once per month.

PAYS $24.40 - $29.00per hour DOE (Salary ranges provided are based on relevant experience and skill set)

SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:

The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for but not limited to the day-to-day maintenance including grounds work, plumbing, minor electrical work, basic carpentry, troubleshooting H.V.A.C and food service equipment, wall repair, Building Engine PM, painting, special projects and seasonal snow removal.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

REQUIRED:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to read printed labels and instructions

PREFERRED:

• Hoisting License Certification or basic training certification in Building Maintenance
• Bilingual English/Spanish

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

REQUIRED:

• Minimum of three (3) years of maintenance experience
• Knowledge of building trades such as painting, plumbing, carpentry and electrical systems

PREFERRED:

• Previous experience in Building Maintenance
• Building System software work order Program

PHYSICAL ABILITIES/SKILLS:

REQUIRED:

• Frequent bending, standing, stooping, stretching, and lifting
• Ability to lift heavy objects 50 - 100 lbs. assisted, such as appliances and furniture
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders and access all areas of the buildings
• Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations
• Participate in the Emergency On Call Rotation once per month
• Operate equipment and deliver 12-passenger vans and box trucks for maintenance during winter season
