Job summary

PepsiCo Inc. in Latham, NY is seeking a maintenance technician to repair, maintain, and improve production equipment used to keep PepsiCo brands running safely, reliably, and on time.

This full-time role involves preventive maintenance, diagnosing malfunctions, documenting work, and coordinating with contractors on shift changes. Shifts: 2:00 pm or 10:00 pm, five days per week, with hourly pay of $30.50.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older.
• Pass technical assessment addressing job-critical maintenance knowledge areas.
• Position requires continuous work near heat, noise, gas, and chemicals.
• Frequent lifting, climbing, standing, walking, crouching, squatting, bending and kneeling.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on production/manufacturing equipment per specifications.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions and complete repairs or adjustments to restore operation.
• Troubleshoot mechanical systems (e.g., motors, seals, bearings, chains, sprockets).
• Complete required documentation of work performed, schedules, and tasks using provided tools.
• Support line changeovers and equipment upgrades; coordinate with outside contractors on assigned lines as needed.

Quick Look

• End Time: Variable according to shift scheduling (2nd or 3rd shift)

What You'll Do

• Perform preventative maintenance on production/manufacturing equipment per specifications
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions and complete repairs or adjustments to restore operation
• Perform breakdown analysis and troubleshoot mechanical systems (e.g., motors, seals, bearings, chains, sprockets)
• Complete required documentation of work performed, schedules, and tasks using provided tools
• Support line changeovers and equipment upgrades; coordinate with outside contractors on assigned lines as needed

Minimum Qualifications

• 18 years or older
• Pass technical assessment addressing job-critical maintenance knowledge areas
• Position requires continuous work near heat, noise, gas, and chemicals
• Position requires frequent lifting, climbing, standing, walking, crouching, squatting, bending and kneeling (with or without accommodation)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with electrical systems including but not limited to: conveyers and airveyors, compressors and ammonia systems, and hydraulic systems
• Experience with electronics, gearing, kinematics, pneumatics and air compression, pumps, and schematics
• Experience with packaging/high speed production
• Experience with PLC and SERVO
