Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a maintenance technician to support automated manufacturing systems in Ohio. You will diagnose and repair automation components, modify PLCs and robot programs, and implement upgrades to improve uptime and efficiency.

The role requires hands-on experience with electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, plus strong documentation practices and familiarity with CMMS and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment with automation.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical degree or equivalent to 2+ years of formal technical training required.
• Proficiency with electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems and automation components (robots, PLCs, HMIs, sensors, actuators).

Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety and enforce all safety protocols and procedures.
• Diagnose malfunctions in automated systems and repair components efficiently.
• Modify PLC logic to adjust system behavior and optimize production processes.
• Modify robot programs to improve system performance and production output.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, sensors, actuators, motors, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
• Implement new automation technologies and hardware upgrades.
• Monitor performance metrics and generate reports to drive decisions.
• Maintain thorough documentation of maintenance activities and configurations.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety as the top concern, ensuring all safety protocols, policies, and procedures are strictly followed to maintain a safe working environment
• Diagnosing malfunctions in automated systems, identifying faulty components, and repairing or replacing them efficiently
• Understanding and modifying PLC logic to adjust system behavior and optimize production processes
• Understanding and modifying Robot programs to adjust system behavior and optimize production processes
• Identifying and resolving issues with electrical wiring, sensors, actuators, motors, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, and other mechanical components
• Implementing new automation technologies, software updates, and hardware upgrades to improve system functionality
• Monitoring system performance metrics, identifying trends, and generating reports to inform decision‑making
• Maintaining detailed documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, and system configurations

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment using automation or an associate degree in Automation and Robotics
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Technical degree or equivalent to 2+ years of formal technical training required
• Proficiency in electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, with 2+ years of experience working with industrial automation components such as Robots, PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and actuators
• 2+ years of hands‑on experience troubleshooting and modifying PLC control logic
• Demonstrated experience in diagnosing and resolving complex system issues in an automated manufacturing environment
• Proven ability to analyze technical issues and implement solutions with a focus on minimizing downtime and improving efficiency
• Blueprint & Schematic Reading: Ability to interpret and apply blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals with 2+ years of experience
• Proficiency in CMMS software, MS Office, and industrial automation software for documentation and troubleshooting
