Job summary

Bryten is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our on-site team in Mesa, AZ. You will diagnose and repair a range of systems, perform preventative maintenance, and prepare apartments for new residents while maintaining safe, welcoming grounds and common areas.

The ideal candidate has prior apartment or facilities maintenance experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Prior apartment/facilities maintenance experience preferred.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, carpentry, drywall, painting, and general maintenance practices.
• HVAC certification preferred; additional industry certifications are a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments efficiently.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Complete service requests and maintenance work orders in a timely, professional, and courteous manner.
• Diagnose and repair issues related to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, carpentry, drywall, painting, and other building systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance on community equipment, buildings, and common areas.
• Prepare vacant apartment homes for new residents by completing make-ready and turn processes.
• Conduct routine inspections of buildings, grounds, amenities, and equipment to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
• Assist with emergency maintenance situations and participate in an on-call rotation as required.
• Maintain community curb appeal through regular upkeep of grounds, common areas, and property amenities.
• Ensure all work complies with company policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of completed work orders, inspections, inventory, and maintenance activities.
• Communicate effectively with residents, vendors, and team members to provide exceptional customer service.
• Assist with inventory management and maintaining appropriate levels of maintenance supplies and equipment.
• Support community improvement projects and capital improvement initiatives as needed.
• Promote a positive, safe, and welcoming community environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
