Legacy Talent Search is actively seeking an experienced Ammonia & Refrigeration Technician role in Eugene. Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on ammonia refrigeration systems and related equipment.
Monitor system performance and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
Maintain and service refrigeration compressors, condensers, evaporators, valves, and controls.
Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and conduct emergency repairs to reduce downtime.
Adhere to OSHA regulations and safety procedures, especially when working with ammonia and hazardous materials.
Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, inspections, and system performance.
Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager and production teams to schedule and carry out preventive maintenance.
Support safety audits and assist with compliance inspections.
Train and support staff on safe refrigeration practices and system operations.
Minimum 3 years of experience with ammonia or industrial refrigeration systems.
Strong understanding of ammonia refrigeration components and system operations.
RETA certification or equivalent (preferred).
EPA Refrigerant Certification (Type II or Universal preferred).
Familiarity with OSHA standards, PSM, and environmental safety guidelines.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied environments, including cold and outdoor conditions.
Excellent troubleshooting skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one is a plus.
