Job summary

Breakers at Edgewater Beach in Chicago seeks a maintenance-focused team member to perform a variety of repair and readiness tasks for apartments and common areas. You will handle general maintenance projects including plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, painting, and equipment repair while ensuring safety procedures are followed.

The role requires reliability, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work independently with a proactive, can-do attitude.

Qualifications

• No experience is required; general mechanical and/or electrical knowledge preferred.
• Valid Driver's license is required.
• Clear and positive communication with others.
• Self-assured with a can-do attitude.
• Ability to work independently and complete repairs.

Responsibilities

• Complete work orders around the community.
• Perform work and repairs needed to ready apartments prior to move-in’s.
• Order and organize maintenance supplies as needed.
• Complete general maintenance projects, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, equipment repair, snow removal, and landscaping.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and after hours calls.
• Maintain knowledge of all property emergency, safety, and disaster plans/procedures.
• Maintain office, shop, and storage and ensure that mechanical areas of the community are in accordance with policies.
• Drive residents to stores or on special trips as needed.
