Job summary

Senior Lifestyle in Chicago is seeking a full-time Maintenance role to ensure the upkeep of the community and respond to repair requests. You will complete work orders, prep apartments for move-ins, and manage supplies while performing diverse maintenance tasks across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting.

A valid driver’s license and strong communication are required. The position emphasizes independent work, reliability, and willingness to handle emergencies.

Qualifications

• No experience required, general mechanical and/or electrical knowledge is preferred.
• A valid Driver's license is required.
• Clear and positive communication to everybody you encounter is essential.
• You should be self-assured with a can-do attitude and work well independently.

Responsibilities

• Complete work orders around the community.
• Perform repairs to ready apartments prior to move-in.
• Order and organize maintenance supplies as needed.
• Complete general maintenance projects including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and equipment repair.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and after-hours calls.
• Maintain knowledge of all community safety and disaster plans.
• Maintain offices, shop, and storage areas and ensure maintenance areas meet SLC policies.
• Drive residents to stores or on special trips as needed.
