Job summary

Jubilee Housing in Washington, DC is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine and emergency repairs across our portfolio. You will handle unit turns, preventive maintenance, and safety, while documenting work and maintaining resident relationships.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in property or facilities maintenance, basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry skills, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work on-call after hours.

Qualifications

• Strong customer-service skills and ability to work effectively with diverse resident populations.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work indoors/outdoors in varying weather.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and complete work professionally.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance in accordance with Jubilee Housing standards and HUD/NSPIRE requirements.
• Complete unit-turn work within established make-ready schedules and communicate delays.
• Document completion in the property management system and maintain accurate records of work performed.
• Assist with preventive maintenance inspections and tasks.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in rotating on-call schedule.
• Maintain grounds, snow removal, trash/debris removal, and general property upkeep.
• Communicate professionally with residents regarding maintenance concerns and follow-up.
