Job summary

TREK Development Group in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform inspections, basic repairs, and preventative maintenance across multiple developments. You will handle HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, electrical tasks and on-call emergencies while maintaining pride in your work and community spaces.

Ideal candidates have two years of hands-on, multi-site maintenance experience and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Two years of advanced hands-on experience in trades (plumbing, HVAC, boiler, carpentry, appliance, electrical repairs).
• High school diploma or GED; trade certifications preferred.
• Must have valid driver license and background check clearance.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain vacant apartments for new residents.
• Respond to service requests and emergencies in a timely, professional manner.
• Perform HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry repairs and preventative maintenance as needed.
• Assist in exterior property upkeep and snow removal to maintain curb appeal.
• Complete work orders promptly according to company policies.

After 90 days of employment, employees can opt in to flex their schedule to work four 10 hour shifts or Tuesday – Saturday each week.

We are currently seeking an engaged and passionate professional to serve as Maintenance Technicianto two new developments, Uptown Flats & Penn Lincoln, as well as one day a week at Mellons Orchard. The Maintenance Technicianis responsible for the performing inspections and basic repairs or preventative maintenance. To do well in this role you will display pride in your work and enjoy day-to-day maintenance problem-solving using your skills and various hand and power tools.

Under the direction of the Community Manager, the Maintenance Technicianis responsible for

Essential Functions

• Prepare and perform all necessary repairs to vacant apartments for new residents.
• Respondto all service requests and on-call emergencies in a timely and professional manner.
• Diagnose, repair, and/or replacement may include, but are not limited to: HVAC (including filters, belts, and thermostats), windows, latches, screens, hinges, sliding glass doors, shelves, baseboards, mirrors and closets, cabinets, countertops, appliances, plumbing and fixtures, faucets, valves, pumps, garbage disposal, toilet, window treatments, ceramic tile, grout, caulk, electrical, roofing, walkway, asphalt, painting, carpeting, and drywall.
• Painting, carpentry, and drywall repairs follow RRP protocol as needed.
• Assist in maintaining the exterior of the property to provide curb appeal, upkeep of grounds of community, including snow removal.
• Complete work order requests in a timely manner and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Provide preventative maintenance for all buildings’ systems, equipment, and components.
• Be aware of all utility meter cut-offs, apartment and fixture cut-offs, and sewer cleanouts.
• Be available for weekend work, on-call rotation, and emergency service call duties.

Education & Experience

• High School diploma or GED; trade school and/or Industry-Trade certifications/Degrees (NAHMS, CAMT, OSHA, HVAC) preferred.
• Minimum of twoyears of multi-site, multi-family, multi-property type operational management experience — preferably with a portfolio of properties that contain a mix of residential property types or a comparable role in hotel/resort/retail management.
• Must demonstrate a minimum of two years of advanced hands-on experience in one or more trades —plumbing, HVAC, boiler, carpentry, appliance, and electrical repairs.
• Valid driver licenses required.
• Child abuse clearances and background check required.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

This position is very active, with occasional lifting and/or moving of items up to 80 pounds. Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. Occasional outside weather condition exposure. This job may include evening, weekend, and holiday hours, to support emergency repairs.
