Job summary

Amsted Automotive Group in Taylor, MI is seeking a Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift to keep our manufacturing lines running smoothly. The role requires coordinating with production and QA teams, performing preventive maintenance, and keeping spare parts stocked.

You will monitor equipment, analyze downtime data, and contribute to safety and environmental goals while supporting onboarding and team communication.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years: Maintenance and Facilities experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate maintenance and repair work with production.
• Ensure QA policies are followed by maintenance staff.
• Maintain and repair shop equipment.
• Monitor spare parts inventory and reorder as needed.
• Prepare reports and analyze data to improve operations.
• Assist with hiring of maintenance personnel.
• Track and improve key maintenance metrics (asset utilization, PM compliance, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with city, state and federal regulations and safety practices.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Primary Function Summary

• Communicates directly with the production department to coordinate maintenance and repair work in process areas.
• Communicates directly with QA department to ensure effective participation by the maintenance technicians in the implementation of QA policies and procedures.
• Communicates regularly with all maintenance technicians, both individually and as a group, to ensure good two-way communication concerning maintenance issues.
• Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Maintain and repairs maintenance shop equipment.
• Monitors the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and initiates reordering when necessary.
• Prepares reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related problems.
• Assists with hiring of maintenance personnel.
• Tracks, analyzes and improves key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance, etc.
• Ensures city, county, state, and federal regulations relating to the maintenance department are met all times.
• Shall adhere to all safety, health and environmental procedures, policies and practices, such as; utilizing personal protective equipment and proper attire in keeping with safety standards.
