Job summary

Amsted Automotive Group in Sterling Heights, MI is seeking experienced Maintenance Technicians for the second shift (3pm - 11pm) with a 15% shift premium. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on presses, conveyors, and related equipment to sustain manufacturing output.

The role requires strong hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical skills, plus PLC exposure. Overtime may be necessary to support plant goals and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Five years minimum experience in plant maintenance with strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial skills with some PLC experience.
• Must be able to read and interpret hydraulic, pneumatic and lubrication schematics.
• Knowledge of IATF16949, ISO 14001, and Q1 compliance criteria.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintenance of building, presses, and equipment throughout plant.
• Operate forklift and man lift as required.
• Support assembly and press departments to meet goals.
• Participate in press set-ups and lean improvements.
• Follow safety procedures including Lockout/Tag out and electrical safety.

Description

ABOUT THE ROLE

Amsted Automotive, Sterling Heights, is seeking experienced Maintenance Technicians who will be responsible for manufacturing equipment maintenance and facility maintenance as outlined below, on our second shift, 3pm - 11pm + 15% shift premium.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Repair and Maintenance of building, presses, and equipment throughout plant
• Operation of forklift and man lift
• Responsible for supporting the team goals of the assembly, and press departments
• Responsible for participation in press set‑ups, teamwork, and continuous improvement of press set‑up time
• Adhere to all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tag out and electrical safe work practices
• Responsible for all PM tasks, corrective actions, and improvements to assigned equipment
• Required to follow all maintenance systems and proper documentation procedures as outlined in the work instructions, including preventive maintenance procedures, downtime recording procedure, work order procedures
• Serves in the capacity of wastewater handler commensurate with completion training
• Other duties as required by the Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Launch Reliability Manager and Maintenance Supervisor
• May receive direction from General Production Supervisor, Production Supervisors, and Team Leaders
• Adapt and promote lean manufacturing principals
• Active participant in the Elimination of Waste Team meetings
• Support the Company’s Goals and Objectives

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED

• Knowledge of stamping presses, conveyors, CNCs, washers, assembly machines, various automation, and related machinery
• Knowledge of pneumatics, lubrication, and hydraulics circuits
• Knowledge of basic electrical circuits and diagrams
• Knowledge of mig and or arc welding and use of cutting torches
• Must be able to read and interpret hydraulic, pneumatic and lubrication schematics
• Must be able to work with minimum supervision
• Possess working knowledge of IATF16949, ISO 14001, and Q1 compliance criteria

WHAT ELSE YOU'LL NEED TO KNOW

• Excellent manual dexterity with the ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds frequently
• Work may require extended periods of sitting, standing, lifting, bending, stooping and performing repetitive motion tasks
• Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder to service the lights and ceiling fans
• Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with continuous exposure to noise
• Must be able to work necessary overtime if required
