Job summary

Dee Zee, Inc is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance, repair, and building duties. You will operate power-driven equipment, potentially lead maintenance projects, and troubleshoot complex issues with limited supervision.

You will install and repair production machinery, perform plumbing and carpentry tasks, read manuals, and use a range of tools to keep equipment safe and efficient. This role requires strong collaboration and problem solving.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of related experience required, preferrably in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, sketches, blueprints and work orders.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts (JLGs), or obtain required certifications.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise sound judgment in resolving problems.
  • Proficiency in the safe use of a variety of hand tools, power tools and maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; completion of a craft apprenticeship preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain and repair production machinery and facility equipment, performing a wide variety of skilled maintenance duties.
  • Perform a variety of plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Perform basic machinist duties, including fabrication, modification and repair of parts and components as needed.
  • Perform emergency and unscheduled repairs on production equipment during operations and complete scheduled maintenance activities during planned machine downtime.
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs on production equipment.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on production machinery, equipment, and facility systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, technical documents and work orders to perform required maintenance, repairs and preventive services.
  • Utilize a variety of hand and power tools, electrical testing equipment and material handling equipment to perform maintenance and repair activities.
  • Diagnose equipment issues; replace or repair defective parts; and test and adjust equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Identify and report faulty equipment operation, defective materials and other unusual conditions to leadership in a timely manner.

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance, repair, and building maintenance duties, including the operation of power-driven equipment. This role may serve as the lead on maintenance and repair projects and is expected to troubleshoot and resolve most issues independently. The Maintenance Technician also provides recommendations to leadership on policy matters, technical issues, and other complex or unusual problems requiring additional guidance or decision-making.

  • Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to use email, maintenance systems and other business software as required.

  • High School Diploma or GED required; completion of a craft apprenticeship preferred.
