Job summary

Amcor is seeking a maintenance technician to perform preventive and repair work on high-speed film production equipment. You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and process issues and support production around the clock.

The role requires 2–4 years in industrial electrical repair, reading blueprints, and a high school diploma or GED; journeyman cert is preferred. Starting pay is $27.00/hr with potential up to $39.00/hr plus shift differential.

Qualifications

  • Two to four years of experience in industrial electrical repair including drives, instrumentation, and process controls.
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical blueprints, drawings and schematics.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions with little supervision.

Job DescriptionPrimary Function:Perform preventive and repair maintenance work on production machinery to ensure the continuous production of high-quality film while maintaining all safety work standards.Essential Functions:Troubleshoot, repair and correct mechanical, electrical and process problems associated with production equipment to ensure proper operation.Provide 24/7 technical support for production.Use JDE system to purchase and stock parts.Ability to assemble, disassemble and convert/upgrade production lines or support equipment as required for repairs, upgrades and/or installations to include mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, fabrication, VFD and PLC.Regularly inspect production lines and support equipment and schedule necessary preventive maintenance routines.Ability to identify and work with contractors to repair, install, remove, and/or upgrade equipment.Welds together metal parts, equipment pieces, etc. as needed.Maintain building and grounds.Maintains a safe working environment; Reports unsafe conditions to management.Essential Physical Requirements:Standing and walking to inspect facility including, building and equipment, and overall manufacturing and warehouse operations for as much as 100% of workdaySitting to prepare reports and use computer equipment for approximately 10% of workdayReaching with hands and arms for as much as 75% of workdayClimbing or balancing for as much as 70% of workdayKneeling, stooping, crouching or crawling for as much as 70% of workdayBending, twisting, reaching and leaning for as much as 75% of workdayTalking to communicate with others for as much as 100% of workdayHearing to communicate with others for as much as 100% of workdayUsing arms to grasp, handle and type for as much as 75% of workdayThe employee in this job is required to exert 60 pounds of force occasionally (less than 1/3 of time); and/or up to 40 pounds of force frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of time); and/or up to 30 pounds of force regularly (more than 2/3 of the total time)Education:High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.Journeyman certification preferred.Experience:Two to four years of experience in industrial electrical repair including drives, instrumentation, and process controls involving high-speed production equipment such as extruders, resin conveying equipment, packing equipment, and state of the art process controls.Special Skills:Must possess basic mechanical and electrical skills.Must demonstrate ability to follow written and verbal instructions with little or no supervision.Ability to read mechanical and electrical and/or engineering blueprints, drawings and schematics.Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems and equipment, including drives, motors, etc.External skills training related to the position may be requiredThe starting rate of pay for this position is expected to be $27.00; however, starting pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience between $27.00 and $39.00.
