Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Monroe Township, IL to keep molding machines clean, lubricated, and running safely. You will work Mon-Fri, 7am-3:30pm, performing equipment lubrication, debris removal, and GMP-compliant maintenance tasks.

You must hold a forklift license and be able to operate hand tools, drills, grinders, and saws. The role requires strict adherence to safety protocols, lock-out/tag-out, and the ability to respond to emergencies as needed.

Qualifications

  • Requires basic math skills (add/sub/multiply decimals).
  • English literacy to understand work orders and notices.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

Job DescriptionSchedule: Mon-Fri 7am-3:30pm3.0Responsibilities:Keeps molding machines free of debris and oil.Cleans the production area floor around the production equipment.Supplies maintenance and production equipment with proper lubrication.All work performed will be in accordance to GMP's.Maintains machines, tools and work area in a clean and safe orderly manner.Must perform all duties within established safety guidelines and procedures.Follow lock-out/tag-out procedures.Follow requirements established under Job Safety Analysis training.Other duties as assigned.4.0Qualifications:SkillsMust have basic math skills to include addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and decimals.Must be able to speak, write and read effectively using the English language in order to understand work orders, safety notices and other forms of written communication.Ability to print legibly and fill out forms.Must be able to retain machine locations, equipment rooms and safety equipment.Logical reasoning with the ability to respond to instructions and follow through and notify Supervisor when instructions or requirements are not clearly understood.Must be able to plan basic day based on list of objectives that are noted on daily work lists.Must posses a forklift license and be able to operate and hand jack and powered work platforms.Must be able to respond in emergency situations such as fires and accidents.Must be capable of using hand drills, grinders and saws.Must have good manual dexterity.Must be able to follow both verbal and written instructions.Must be able to work overtime, if needed.4.2Education and/or Equivalent ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent.4.3Physical Requirements/Work EnvironmentMust be able to work eight (8) hours per day, five (5) days per week with two 15- minute breaks and one 30-minute lunch. Overtime may be necessary.Must work shift hours and days of the week as required.Employee is constantly walking and standing. Is required to push and pull mop and vacuum approximately 2 hours per day and pick up debris from the facility grounds (stooping) approximately one hour per day. Must have full use of both hands in order to complete required daily tasks. Noise level is 90dB. Polyethylene, polystyrene, PET, polypropylene, polyurethane and purging compound materials are both processed and ground, which provides some fumes and dust. Must be able to wear protective clothing such as a hairnet, rubber-soled/steel toed shoes, earplugs and a beard guard (if applicable), No jewelry except for a wedding band without stones. Will have exposure to high-pressure moving parts, shielded surfaces, which have elevated temperatures (350 - 600 degrees), high-pressure hydraulic systems, and high voltage and amperage systems. Indoor and outdoor work required, Must be able to lift 35 lbs. occasionally during the day. Must be able to stand approximately 60% of the day. Daily activities utilize cleaning chemicals, salt, oils and grease. This position requires a high level of interaction with all personnel, which requires hearing skills. Must be able to interact with other employees.
