Job summary

nVent is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support our Minnesota manufacturing operations. You will maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve production and facility equipment to ensure reliability and minimize downtime.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of one year mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Experience using computers and common software applications.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with production equipment and machinery.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Welding experience (stick and wire-feed).
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Experience using hand tools, torches, drill presses, cut-off saws, iron workers and similar equipment.
  • Ability to obtain forklift and company vehicle licenses.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment and accurately document completed work.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical equipment and machinery.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform emergency repairs to minimize downtime and production disruptions.
  • Move, install, anchor, and align production equipment as needed.
  • Conduct routine inspections, lubrication, and maintenance to ensure optimal machine performance.
  • Assist in the fabrication and construction of equipment components and support structures.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory required for repairs and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate material requirements for maintenance projects.
  • Partner with production leaders, supervisors, and value stream managers to address operational and equipment concerns.
  • Follow all safety procedures and proactively identify and report unsafe conditions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and special projects across the facility.

Job description

Schedule: 4 Days On / 4 Days Off Hours: 7:45 PM – 6:15 AM

What You Will Experience in This Position As a Maintenance Technician, you will:

Pay Transparency nVent’s pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee’s work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.

Compensation Range: $17.20 - $31.90 Per Hour
