Job summary

Woodward Camp seeks a Maintenance Technician 3 to join the on-site facilities team. You will help keep our campus clean, safe, and welcoming, performing a range of tasks from groundskeeping to equipment maintenance across the property.

You’ll support landscaping, painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and more while ensuring operations run smoothly for guests and staff at Woodward Camp in Woodward, PA.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in general maintenance techniques.
• Valid driver’s license.
• OSHA certified on applicable equipment.
• Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
• Experience in electric, plumbing, carpentry, mechanical and fleet maintenance.
• Background checks and clearances required.

Responsibilities

• Operate power driven street equipment.
• Operate heavy equipment (Skid Steer, Lawn Tractors).
• Operate vehicles including pick-up trucks and Kubota Side by Side and trailer.
• Clean, maintain tools and mechanical equipment.
• Load, unload, transport parts, materials and equipment.
• Respond to emergency calls.
• Paint, sand, caulk, prime and paint surfaces.
• Maintain groundskeeping tasks like weed-eating and mowing.
• Install and repair light fixtures and outlets.
• Perform routine safety facility inspections.

JOB SUMMARY

A Maintenance Technician 3 at Woodward Camp is an integral part of the camper's experience. They will be part of the maintenance staff, maintaining records, keeping Woodward's renowned facilities operating at a high level. A Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a variety of tasks across the property ensuring the campus remains clean, safe, functional, and welcoming for our guests. These vital tasks may include landscaping, cleaning, removing trash, and performing maintenance on a wide array of features at our facilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate power driven street equipment
• Operate heavy equipment (Skid Steer, Lawn Tractors)
• Operate vehicles including: pick-up trucks and Kubota Side by Side and trailer
• Clean, maintain tools and mechanical equipment
• Load, unload, transport parts, materials and equipment
• Pick up trash
• Respond to emergency calls
• Perform painting duties, sand, caulk, prime and paint
• Perform groundskeeping tasks such as: weed eating, mowing grass, and landscaping
• Operate a pressure washer
• Perform snow removal
• Assist with equipment repair
• Perform an array of plumbing, electrical and carpentry work
• Repair vandalism
• Operate spray units
• Put up and remove seasonal awnings
• Repair and patch concrete and asphalt around campus
• Perform seal coating on asphalt roadways
• Apply concrete sealant
• Manage projects and a crew
• Put on ramp stickers around campus
• Install and repair or replace light fixtures, ballasts, switches, and outlets
• Operate small hand and power tools
• Operate a variety of air tools
• Assume custodian's duties
• Assist with guest requests and needs in a timely manner
• Conduct routine maintenance and safety facility inspections
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications

• 5+ of years' experience in general maintenance techniques
• Valid driver's license
• OSHA certified on applicable equipment
• Must be comfortable working at heights and confined spaces
• Well versed in electric, plumbing, carpentry, mechanical and fleet maintenance
• Provide work related references upon request.
• Employment in this position is contingent upon successful completion of all pre-hire background checks, including criminal history clearance through the Pennsylvania State Police (PATCH), child abuse clearance through the Department of Public Welfare, Motor Vehicle Record if required by position and federal background screening via FBI fingerprinting

PRE-REQUISITES

• Must have or be able to obtain the following prior to starting work:
• Woodward will supply information to assist you in obtaining these if needed.
• Mandated Reporter Training Certificate
• Safesport Training Certificate

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

• Physical Capabilities: bend, twist, push, pull, stand, lift 50 lbs.
• Must be comfortable working in an outdoor and indoor all-season environment.
• Adhere to all workplace safety practices, expectations, and guidelines.
