Job summary

Bachoco USA’s Fort Smith Slaughter facility is seeking a Maintenance Technician (Dpt. 124) for 1st shift (Sun–Thu, 12:00 PM–9:00 PM). The role focuses on inspecting and maintaining machinery to ensure safe, reliable operations across chicken-processing lines.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, dismantling/reassembling equipment, and performing preventative maintenance on electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems. Competitive wages and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspects machinery and support equipment prior to use.
• Tests machinery and supporting equipment after repair and prior to use.
• Troubleshoots inoperable or malfunctioning machinery and equipment to detect root cause; listens for unusual sounds and feels for unusual vibration.
• Dismantles inoperable machinery, installs repaired parts, and reassembles equipment.
• Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears and other parts as part of the Preventative Maintenance Program.
• Installs and repairs electrical apparatus of machinery and lays out, assembles, installs and maintains piping systems.
• Repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment.
• Repairs and maintains physical structures of the establishment.
• Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
• Sets up and operates lathes, grinders, drills and milling machines to repair or fabricate parts.
• Other duties as assigned

Position Summary:

• Visually inspects machinery and support equipment prior to use
• Test machinery and supporting equipment after repair and prior to use

• Installs and repairs electrical apparatus (transformers and wiring, electrical and electronic components) of machinery and supporting equipment
• Lays out, assembles, installs and maintains piping systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
• Repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment
• Repairs and maintains physical structure(s) of the establishment
• Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts
• Sets up and operates machine tools such as a lathe, grinder, drill and milling machinery to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures and tools
• Other duties as assigned
