Maintenance Technician 2

If you enjoy learning about and using the latest gadgets, have an understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical devices, possess strong technical and mechanical skills, can keep detailed records, analyze difficult situations, solve problems quickly, adhere to maintenance standards, work well both independently and in a team, and operate equipment and machinery safely, then consider turning your passion into a career as a Fisher Barton Maintenance Technician. You will maintain and repair electrical, PLCs, hydraulics, and mechanical device systems, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot facility and emergency systems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Adhering to safety, quality procedures, regulations, and ethical standards
  • Reading PM procedures, interpreting engineering drawings and schematics, understanding process trends
  • Following work instructions to inspect, test, measure, repair, and replace mechanical, hydraulic, PLC, and electrical equipment
  • Applying knowledge to solve complex maintenance problems
  • Installing and troubleshooting new equipment
  • Completing daily maintenance tasks
  • Logging work and results using a computer
  • Executing tasks as per the Preventive Maintenance System
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance documentation
  • Collaborating with team members and supervisors to improve safety, quality, and efficiency
  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives and training
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area following 5S principles

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma and 2 years of maintenance experience, or equivalent/performance as a Fisher Barton Maintenance Technician 1
  • Proficient in all skills outlined on the site Training Matrix
  • Experience with hydraulic and mechanical systems
  • Strong technical skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to read and understand instructions and ensure quality
  • Effective communication in English
  • Basic math skills

Additional Qualifications:

  • Troubleshooting skills for rapid problem resolution
  • Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Windows)
  • Ability to work well with all organizational levels

Physical and Visual Demands:

  • Standing 8-12 hours daily
  • Sitting, standing, squatting, bending
  • Overhead reaching
  • Repetitive lifting and moving parts up to 15 pounds
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Occasional pushing/pulling up to 75 pounds

Location: 1040 S 12th Street, Watertown, WI

Shift: 2nd Shift, 2:00pm-10:00pm, with overtime availability
