Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Schedule: Monday-Friday from 3:00pm-11:00pm
Location: Sussex, WI
GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
Perform a wide variety of highly skilled maintenance work to repair Sharp’s converting, printing and extruding equipment with emphasis on troubleshooting and repairing electrical/electronic problems, repairing and replacing faulty electrical components, installing new machines and equipment, programming PLCs, maintaining electrical equipment, parts and supplies inventories.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Get work assignments from Supervisor, Lead person or Scheduling tools.
- Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment.
- Perform general mechanical and electrical functions associated with reactive maintenance of equipment, building and grounds.
- Plan and execute assigned tasks and responsibilities associated with special projects. Ensure timelines are met on a consistent basis.
- Ensure accuracy of any data generated.
- Display professional communication and actions.
- Verify job completion documentation to assist in root cause analysis.
- Able to source parts, equipment, materials, and obtain pricing for maintenance purchases.
- Ensure spare parts inventories are stocked and replenished to maintain production uptime.
- Perform most types of tool & die and fixture jobs.
- Assist in cross-training others.
- Maintain/Promote departmental organization as related to 5S.
- Assist other work areas or departments as needed.
COMPETENCIES
- Strong verbal, written and communication skills.
- Demonstrates ability to maintain positive and professional attitude.
- Strong computer skills including: Excel and SAP, preferred.
- Basic blueprint reading skills/ability to do this job.
- Proficiency in using basic gauges and measuring instruments.
- Demonstrate good mechanical skills and use of associated tooling.
- Understanding of machine control systems, and electrical schematics.
- Lean experience preferred.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Minimum high school diploma or GED preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience within a manufacturing environment.
