About the Role:
As a Maintenance Technician I, you will use your skills to support the Operations Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining the Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) robotics fleet and CarryPick infrastructure. You will have the opportunity to learn about the Swisslog robotics system and how it is utilized in a dynamic fulfillment environment. The Maintenance Technician I performs preventive maintenance and repairs to AGVs, access doors, chargers, safety radios, and fencing.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures
- Complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs)
- Perform maintenance service requests impacting the CarryPick fleet and grid, ensuring that work performed in these areas is accomplished efficiently with a minimum amount of disruption and inconvenience.
- Inspect, maintain, and document work done to each AGV
- Troubleshoot AGV software and firmware in the event of persistent failures
- Audit/repair CarryPick workstations to ensure all equipment is functional
- Understand SRS and PLC functionality and escalate critical issues to Leadership when necessary
- Ensure compliance with both regulatory and industry best-practices
- Respond effectively to all emergencies.
- Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas.
- Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them
- Complies with all policies for the safe storage, usage and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment and maintain compliance to State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes, or Laws.
- Documents work performance and materials procurement as directed, using work order system
- Maintain a positive working relationships across all of the Saks Operations facility
- Track and store department inventory as it relates to both active AGVs and spare AGV parts
- Move up to 49lbs as well as stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation, and use ladders up to 30 feet.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 1+ year of experience working with computers and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- High school or equivalent diploma
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field
- 2+ years of experience with automated systems or robotics
- 2+ years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures
- 1+ years of blueprint and electrical schematic reading
- 1+ year of knowledge with electrical and electronic principles
- Possess mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Experience working with established GMP procedures in the operation and maintenance of utility equipment
- Successful candidate must be self-motivated who can work independently or on a team
- Ability to seek outside resources as needed
- Ability to effectively communicate ideas through verbal and written form
- 2+ years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field
- Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safety standards accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and Safety standards
- Project Management experience • Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Experience with robotic operation and maintenance • Able to troubleshoot basic input and output functions
