Scotts Miracle-Gro in Oxford, PA is seeking a 2nd Shift Maintenance Mechanic to troubleshoot and repair equipment across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, electronic and pneumatic systems. You will service production lines, conveyors, packaging and stacking machinery, and assist in installing new equipment.

The role requires prior maintenance and manufacturing experience, physical stamina, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Training on the job will occur in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to read numbers, product descriptions and keep written records.
• Prolonged standing and repetitive motions required; lift at least 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair equipment across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, electronic and pneumatic systems.
• Service and repair production line equipment, conveyors, packaging and stacking machines.
• Assist with installation of machinery and equipment as needed.
• Perform cutting and welding tasks including light steel fabrication.
• Inspect and adjust equipment; diagnose malfunctions and perform maintenance duties.

The hourly rate pay for this position at Scotts/Hawthorne will generally fall between $28.60 - 38.75 per hour and is paid weekly. Scotts/Hawthorne will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.

We are looking for a 2nd Shift Maintenance Mechanic who will join our team in Oxford, PA.

What you’ll do in this role:

• Troubleshoot and perform repairs and maintenance on parts of equipment including machines including mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, electronic, and pneumatic repairs.
• Repair production line equipment including conveyor belts, packaging equipment, grinding equipment and stacking equipment.
• May perform or assist in the installation of machinery and equipment.
• Cut and welding, including light steel fabrication.
• Inspects and adjusts equipment.
• Assist in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
• Performs maintenance duties or other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need to be successful:

• Prior relevant maintenance experience.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability for prolonged and repetitive motions of standing, twisting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, bending, climbing, reaching overhead and arms/hands dexterity.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Teachable attitude and ability to learn on the job in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to read numbers, product descriptions, and maintain written records.
• Ability to push button, monitor controls, and perform basic math functions.
