Job summary

Scotts Miracle-Gro is seeking a 2nd Shift Maintenance Mechanic for our Oxford, PA operation. The role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining machinery across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair equipment including mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, electronic, and pneumatic systems.

• Assist in installing machinery and equipment as needed.
• Perform welding and light fabrication tasks.
• Inspect and adjust equipment; diagnose malfunctions.

The hourly rate pay for this position at Scotts/Hawthorne will generally fall between $28.60 - 38.75 per hour and is paid weekly. Scotts/Hawthorne will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.

We are looking for a 2nd Shift Maintenance Mechanic who will join our team in Oxford, PA.

What you’ll do in this role:

• Troubleshoot and perform repairs and maintenance on parts of equipment including machines including mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, electronic, and pneumatic repairs.
• Repair production line equipment including conveyor belts, packaging equipment, grinding equipment and stacking equipment.
• May perform or assist in the installation of machinery and equipment.
• Cut and welding, including light steel fabrication.
• Inspects and adjusts equipment.
• Assist in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
• Performs maintenance duties or other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need to be successful:

• Prior relevant maintenance experience.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability for prolonged and repetitive motions of standing, twisting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, bending, climbing, reaching overhead and arms/hands dexterity.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Teachable attitude and ability to learn on the job in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to read numbers, product descriptions, and maintain written records.
• Ability to push button, monitor controls, and perform basic math functions.
