The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company in Geismar, LA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team. You will troubleshoot and repair production-line equipment across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, electronic, and pneumatic systems.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and perform repairs on equipment including mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, electronic, and pneumatic systems.
• Repair production line equipment including conveyors, packaging, grinding and stacking equipment.
• May assist in installation of machinery and equipment.
• Cutting and welding including light steel fabrication.
• Inspect and adjust equipment; diagnose malfunctions.
• Perform maintenance duties as assigned.

The hourly rate pay for this position at Scotts/Hawthorne will generally fall between $25.95 - 35.05 per hour and is paid weekly. Scotts/Hawthorne will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician who will join our Scotts Miracle Gro team in Geismar, LA!

• Troubleshoot and perform repairs and maintenance on parts of equipment including machines including mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, electronic, and pneumatic repairs.
• Repair production line equipment including conveyor belts, packaging equipment, grinding equipment and stacking equipment.
• May perform or assist in the installation of machinery and equipment.
• Cut and welding, including light steel fabrication.
• Inspects and adjusts equipment.
• Assist in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
• Performs maintenance duties or other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need to be successful:

• Prior relevant maintenance experience.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability for prolonged and repetitive motions of standing, twisting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, bending, climbing, reaching overhead and arms/hands dexterity.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Teachable attitude and ability to learn on the job in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to read numbers, product descriptions, and maintain written records.
• Ability to push button, monitor controls, and perform basic math functions.
