Job summary

DICK’S Sporting Goods in Jersey City, NJ is hiring a Maintenance Technician for our distribution center. You will maintain, repair, and troubleshoot facility equipment and conveyance systems, including PLCs, hydraulics, and pneumatics, while following PM standards and safety rules.

You will train junior technicians, work with external vendors, and support ongoing DC operations. Shift: 2B; rate: $29.55/hr + $1/hr diff; eligible for range up to $42.90.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or 2-year tech certificate in mechanical/electrical field.
• 3–5 years of hands-on maintenance experience.
• Welding, burning, cutting proficiency.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, gear boxes and PLC controls.
• Familiar with DC-specific software and equipment (Crown PM, Gage).
• Ability to read electrical/mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Good safety awareness and LOTO experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair DC facility equipment and conveyance systems.
• Follow preventive maintenance standards and document work in asset system.
• Report spare parts levels and usage to maintenance leadership.
• Train junior technicians to improve performance and troubleshoot assets.
• Collaborate with vendors to complete DC projects safely and timely.
• Perform other duties to support DC operations as needed.

OVERVIEW

Shift: 2B: Tuesday - Friday 5:30p - 3:30aRate: $29.55/hr. + $1/hr. shift dif

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety requirements including OSHA standards with regards to LOTO and safe work practices.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all equipment related to the facility and conveyance systems within the facility. Follow PM standards and document work performed for accurate record keeping in our asset management system. Areas of expertise must include PLC’s, conveyors, 3 phase electric, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, and any other related equipment.
• Accurately report spare parts inventory levels and daily parts usage to Maintenance leadership to help ensure spare parts inventory is maintained.
• Assist in teammate development by training junior technicians in order to elevate their performance level while troubleshooting and repairing any related assets.
• Work closely with outside vendors in order to complete projects within the DCs in a safe and timely manor.
• Take on other duties as needed to support the DC and it’s operational needs

QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate‘s Degree - 2 year vocational technical certificate or degree preferably in a mechanical or electrical application
• 3-5 years of experience
• Welding, burning, cutting
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, gear boxes & PLC controls
• Familiar with DC-specific specialized software packages (ex. Crown PM, Gage) & equipment
• Able to read & understand electrical mechanical building type drawings/schematics
• Good safety awareness
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull & lift up to 75 lbs.
• Experience with LOTO

Targeted Pay Range: $29.55 - $42.90. Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, location, experience and position offered.
