Sonstegard Foods Company in Iowa seeks a 2nd shift Maintenance Technician to perform building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repairs. You will ensure safety compliance with SQF regulations and company policies while working with management, production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime.

Responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical failures, performing preventative maintenance on machines, maintaining repair parts inventory, and following SOPs with proper PPE.

Formación

• Basic reasoning and problem solving.
• Able to operate skid loaders and pallet jacks.
• Good communication and intrapersonal skills.
• Familiar with preventative maintenance software.
• Follow SOPs and PPE safety requirements.

Responsabilidades

• Diagnose and repair mechanical failures (bearings, seals, pumps, etc.).
• Perform advanced preventative maintenance on machines and building daily.
• Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies.
• CIP knowledge (pumps, valves, controller, etc.).
• Coordinate with Maintenance Manager and Purchasing Supervisor to order parts accurately and timely.
• Assist with unplanned machine breakdowns as needed.
• Maintain daily PM paperwork.
• Ensure safe use of equipment.
• Perform other maintenance duties as requested.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing and welding is beneficial.

This position will directly report to the Maintenance Managers and work with all Management, Production and Maintenance personnel. This position is primarily responsible for performing building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repairs as necessary. Responsible for compliance with safety and all other company policies, SQF regulations and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.

Essential Job Duties

• Diagnose and repair Mechanical Failures (i.e. bearings, Seals, pumps, etc.)
• Perform advanced preventative maintenance on machines and building as assigned daily.
• Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies.
• CIP Knowledge (pumps, valves, controller, etc.)
• Work with the Maintenance manager and Purchasing Supervisor to ensure repair parts are ordered accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assist with unplanned machine breakdowns as needed.
• Maintain daily PM paperwork.
• Ensure safe use of equipment.
• Perform other maintenance duties as requested.
• Knowledge of Electrical, Plumbing and welding are beneficial.
• 2nd shift position

• Basic computer skills able to use preventative maintenance software.
• Follow and adhere to standard operating procedures (SOP's) and safety requirements, including PPE.
