Job summary

Multimatic in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift. You will perform PM checks, assist with setups and changeovers, and weld/fabricate as needed to keep equipment running smoothly.

Documentation of TPMs and downtime is required, with coordination for labor, materials, and equipment as needed. The role requires an associate degree or equivalent, 1-3 years of hydraulics/pneumatics/electrical/welding experience, and strong troubleshooting skills.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent with manufacturing experience.
  • 1-3 years’ experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical & welding.
  • Strong trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and write routine reports and operate with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all PM checks and procedures as scheduled.
  • Assist with setup and changeovers; install & set up machinery.
  • Weld and fabricate as required for repairs or projects.
  • Complete maintenance documentation including TPM logs and downtime logs.
  • Coordinate with Supervisors/Managers for labor, materials and equipment needs.
  • Work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Must adhere to all Multimatic New Haven Safety practices, policies & procedures • Machine diagnostics/trouble-shooting & repair • Machine installation & set up procedures • Perform welding & fabrication as needed • Perform preventative maintenance (PM’s) procedures related to all manufacturing equipment • Perform all facility related repairs and/or project work as assigned • Responsible for completing and turning in all maintenance related documentation including but not limited to daily log sheets for TPM’s and all required Control Plans and Downtime logs • Coordinate with other resources (Supervisors/Managers) time, material and equipment required to perform necessary work as needed • Must be self-driven; with minimal supervision • Have or acquire all hands tools to perform the jobQUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE • Associate degree in a technical field and/or other related formal course work or equivalent years of experience in this or similar role in a manufacturing environment • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) • Demonstrated computer skills with Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) • 1 - 3 years’ experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical & welding • Excellent trouble-shooting/problem solving skills & experience LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and seal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
