Job summary

Viant Medical Inc. is seeking an Engineering Technician in Wisconsin for a 2nd shift (3:30pm-12am) role focused on maintaining and repairing hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems in manufacturing equipment.

You will troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance on injection molding machines, support core equipment, and ensure safe, efficient production with occasional overtime.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance skills.
• Proficiency in welding, electronics, air compressor, machine shop, hydraulics and electrical maintenance is highly desirable.
• Must be able to understand and follow written, verbal or diagram instructions.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Repair, maintain and troubleshoot injection molding machines, automation, and auxiliary equipment.
• Dismantle and inspect parts; rebuild and overhaul components as needed.
• Service robotics, hoists, power and material handling equipment.
• Maintain plant systems incl. plumbing, hvac, ventilation and exhaust, compressors.
• Perform electrical repairs and diagnose electrical/electronic malfunctions.
• Interpret complex drawings and layouts to perform maintenance work.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on all production equipment using precision tools.
• Contribute to other projects and tasks as assigned.

Earn up to $35.00 per hour based on experience!

2nd shift premium

Hours: Monday – Friday / 2nd shift (3:30pm-12am) / Occasional OT

About the role:

As an Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems. You will perform preventive maintenance on injection molding machines and support the operation of core equipment, including injection molding presses, automation and assembly work cells, material handling systems, and chiller systems, to ensure safe and efficient production.

What you’ll do:

• Repair, maintain and troubleshoot injection molding machines, automation, auxiliary equipment, grinders, dryers, etc.
• Dismantle and inspect parts, rebuild and overhaul complete machines troublesome machine components.
• Service and maintain robotics, hoists, power and miscellaneous material handling equipment.
• Maintain and repair plant systems to include plumbing, heating and air conditioning, ventilating and exhaust equipment, compressors, etc.
• Perform electrical repairs to machines and equipment. Diagnose electrical / electronic malfunctions, troubleshoot microprocessors.
• Work from complicated drawings, plans, sketches and layouts.
• Perform preventive maintenance activities on all production equipment in a timely manner. Use precision measuring instruments such as scale, calipers, dividers, level, micrometers, etc.
• Other projects and tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance skills, ability to troubleshoot and repair all production facility equipment.
• Proficient in the following trades: Welding, electronics, air compressor, machine shop, hydraulics, and electrical maintenance very desirable.
• Must be able to apply common sense, understand and carry out instructions given in written, verbal or diagram form.
• The ability to effectively prioritize activities and conduct duties with minimal supervision is important.
• The ability to diagnose equipment malfunctions where limited information exists
