Job summary

The Center for Human Development (CHD) is seeking a Maintenance Worker for our Secure Residential Treatment program in Springfield, MA. The role involves a wide range of cleaning and building maintenance to support CHD's mission of assisting people in need.

Responsibilities include cleaning, basic repairs, and operating essential systems. A driver's license and reliable transportation are required, with a focus on teamwork and compassionate service.

Qualifications

• Background screening including CORI and driving record check.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move items weighing up to 100 lbs.
• Two years’ maintenance experience preferred.
• Works well in a team environment.
• Self-starter who can follow directions and stay organized.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks such as sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, shampoo rugs, washing floors, cleaning restrooms, painting, stripping and waxing floors, and cleaning common areas.
• Replace lights and perform minor repairs to furniture, buildings, and equipment; shovels snow; may maintain grounds surrounding buildings.
• May perform minor carpentry, plumbing, and electrical duties as directed; operate heating and cooling systems including thermostat and safety controls; move and set up furniture and equipment.
