Qualifications

• Must be certified in electrical, plumbing, and carpentry (3 trades).
• EPA universal certification required.
• HVAC or a related certification required.
• Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds to a height of 5 feet and carry up to 10 feet.

Responsibilities

• Plumbing: repair/install toilets, water fountains, sinks, water heaters.
• Electrical: install switches, receptacles, light fixtures, ballasts.
• Carpentry: drywall, walls, flooring, shelving, painting.
• HVAC: repair/install compressors, fan motors, thermostats, and PTAC units.
• Maintain a clean/safe workplace and assist with moving equipment.

TITLE: Maintenance Technician 2

REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor

Non-Exempt

Shift Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible to maintain the grounds, facility, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards. This position performs skilled work using standardized practices in at least one or more of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, & HVAC.

ROLE and RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plumbing: advanced plumbing repairs such as but not limited to: repairing and installing toilets, water fountains, sprinklers, sewer lines, sinks, faucets, sink drains, and water heaters.
• Electrical: advanced electrical repairs to include installation of switches, receptacles, light fixtures, ballasts, and knowledge of single-phase vs. three-phase power.
• Carpentry: advanced carpentry repairs such as but not limited to: installation, repair of drywall, walls, flooring, ceramic tile, shelving, and painting.
• HVAC: advanced HVAC repairs to include installation of compressors, fan motors, and thermostats. Changing filters, cleaning drains, and assisting in removing or installing PTAC units.
• Assists in maintaining a clean/safe workplace such as but not limited to: moving materials, storing materials, debris removal, and floor cleaning as needed.
• Assist in moving company equipment such as but not limited to: furniture, desks, office supplies, packages, and facility items.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.

KEY CHARACTERISTICS:

• Highly focused and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work with frequent interruptions.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be certified in electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
• EPA universal certification required.
• HVAC or a related certification required.
• Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 10 feet.
