Opened in 1988, our Marysville location is the largest site of the Smith Gardens family consisting of 60 acres, with 500,000 square feet of greenhouse space. Marysville is the primary site for perennial production, but also grows mums, hanging baskets and annuals.
Under minimal supervision, the Maintenance Technician 2 is responsible for performing intermediate-level installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of production and facility equipment to ensure continuous and safe operation of systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Perform intermediate-level maintenance work, including installation and upkeep of machines and equipment, unscheduled/emergency repairs, and preventive maintenance as directed.
- Conduct electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general construction-related maintenance.
- Diagnose issues, replace or repair parts, and perform adjustments and functional testing.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, and work orders todeterminework procedures.
- Communicate repair progress and equipment status to supervisors or leadtechniciansas necessary.
- Identifyand report defective materials, faulty operations, and unusual situations to the teamlead.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all company safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
- Operate a variety of hand tools, power tools, meters, and material handling equipment.
- Collaborate with and provide backup support to team members across the departmentsto meet operational goals and deadlines.
- Utilize hands-on experience with PLC Programming and Variable Frequency Drive (VFD)operation, including diagnostics, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GEDrequired.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience performing skilled or semi-skilled maintenance duties.
- Two or more years of experience in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or construction preferred.
- Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered.
- Mustmaintainany required state licenses or certifications relevant to the position.
PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS
- Must be able to walk, bend, kneel, reach overhead and side-to-side, and perform other physical tasks as needed to carry out job responsibilities.
- Requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- This position may involve extended periods of standing and working in both indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to varying weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, and wind.
- Must be able to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays, during peak production seasons.
- Must be available toworkany assigned shift based on operational needs.
- Ability to use hand and power tools, meters, and material handling equipment effectively and safely.
PAY RANGE
$25.57-$28.57 per hour
