Job summary

AZZ Inc. in Blacksburg, South Carolina is seeking a Maintenance Technician for 1st shift to perform PMs, basic plumbing and electrical work, welding, and machine servicing.

You’ll diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, operate cutting torches or welding equipment, and keep the shop clean and organized while contributing to a safe, efficient maintenance culture. The role requires 6 months to 1 year of related experience, a high school diploma, and a willingness to learn new skills; lifting up

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1-year related experience required.
• Knowledge of hot dip galvanizing, steel fabrication or other custom metal coating operations is a plus.
• Experience with electrical systems, cranes, hoists, and forklifts preferred.
• Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to learn new skills is a must!

Responsibilities

• Repairs, replaces, and reassembles defective equipment parts using hand and power tools.
• Performs routine preventive maintenance on equipment and buildings.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electrical problems and determines how to correct them.
• Operates cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
• Maintain a clean and organized shop area.
