Job summary

AZZ Inc. in Blacksburg, SC is seeking a Maintenance Technician for a 1st shift to perform maintenance on equipment, electrical systems, plumbing, welding, and machine servicing.

You will report to the Maintenance Lead and support PMs, basic repairs and diagnostics in a safe, efficient manner. The role emphasizes hands-on maintenance, preventive care, and a focus on high-quality workmanship within a dynamic industrial setting.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1-year related experience required.
• Knowledge of hot dip galvanizing, steel fabrication or other custom metal coating operations is a plus.
• Experience with electrical systems, cranes, hoists, and forklifts preferred.
• Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Repairs, replaces, and reassembles defective equipment parts using hand and power tools.
• Performs routine preventive maintenance on equipment and buildings.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electrical problems and determines how to correct them.
• Operates cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
• Maintain a clean and organized shop area.
