Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 1st shift (6:00am–2:00pm) in Northlake, TX.

You will install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment, and perform preventive maintenance to keep operations running smoothly. Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED, 2 years in electrical/mechanical fields, and strong safety and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of experience in electrical or mechanical field a plus.
• Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical and plumbing systems.
• General knowledge of distribution center layout and equipment.
• Proven ability to work safely with above average accuracy.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform service and repair work and record productive time versus travel time.
• Perform preventive maintenance according to schedule.
• Maintain accurate work records and parts used.
• Keep manuals and details up to date as changes are advised.
• Support facility improvements including safety projects.
• Troubleshoot problems by planning actions, estimating labor, and materials.
• Operate material handling equipment and perform 5S housekeeping.

What You’ll Do:

• Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment
• Perform service and repair work as designated in profitable and proper manner. Record productive time versus travel time.
• Perform preventive maintenance work according to schedule.
• Maintain accurately all work records and parts used at each job in accordance with established procedure.
• Keep manuals and all details up to date as changes are advised.
• Responsible for facility improvement including safety projects.
• Troubleshoot problems by developing a plan of action, estimating labor time, and job materials.
• Safely operate a walkie rider and floor scrubber; certified on Reach and Conventional forklift for material movement.
• Complete assigned project tasks, maintain staging lane, perform 5S duties to keep work areas and equipment organized.
• Other duties as assigned.

You also have:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• 2 years prior experience in the Electrical, Mechanical field a plus
• Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical and plumbing
• General knowledge of Distribution Center layout and equipment
• Proven ability to work safely with above average accuracy
• Basic Computer Skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Must be able to work any shift including weekends and Holidays as needed.
• Physical ability to regularly stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, use hands, and lift/move 10 lbs., regularly and up to 50 lbs., occasionally. Team lift 50 – 100 pounds occasionally.
• Resilience to work in environments occasionally exposed to extreme temperatures.
• Quality-focused, eager to learn and grow, and willing to embrace innovation and change.

Work Environment:

The work environment is a distribution/warehouse environment.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
This is a non-climate-controlled facility.
