Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker is seeking a Maintenance Tech for the 2nd shift (2:00 PM – 10:00 PM) in our Northlake, Texas distribution center. You’ll install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment to keep operations running smoothly.

You have a high school diploma or GED, 2 years in electrical or mechanical fields, and knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical and plumbing systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years' experience in electrical or mechanical field.
• Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical and plumbing systems.
• General knowledge of distribution center layout and equipment.
• Ability to work safely with above-average accuracy.
• Basic computer skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Must be able to work any shift including weekends and holidays.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and assist with 50–100 lbs team lifts.

Responsibilities

• Record productive time versus travel time.
• Perform preventive maintenance work according to schedule.
• Maintain accurately all work records and parts used at each job.
• Keep manuals and all details up to date as changes are advised.
• Responsible for facility improvement including safety projects.
• Troubleshoot problems by developing a plan of action, estimating labor time, and job materials.
• Safely operate a walkie rider and floor scrubber; certified on Reach and Conventional forklift for material movement.
• Complete assigned project tasks, maintain staging lane, perform 5S duties to keep work areas and equipment organized.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Resilience to work in environments occasionally exposed to extreme temperatures.

Work Environment:

The work environment is a distribution/warehouse environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. This is a non-climate-controlled facility.
