Job summary

GE Aerospace in Idaho is seeking technicians to provide hands-on technical support for production and aftermarket repair of electronic and electro‑mechanical systems. You will set up and operate test equipment, troubleshoot using schematics, and ensure measurement instruments meet standards.

Occasional overtime may be required. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, plus a 2-year technical degree/certificate or equivalent training and at least 3 years of related job experience.

Job Description Summary

The role involves providing technical support for production or aftermarket repair services, including setting up and operating test equipment, and troubleshooting complex electronic and electro‑mechanical systems using schematics and relevant documentation. Responsibilities also include testing, calibrating, adjusting, and maintaining measuring instruments to meet standards, and performing repair and overhaul services for assigned technology. The individual is authorized to execute all assigned tasks and handle additional responsibilities as needed.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support for production or aftermarket repair services, focusing on electronic and electro‑mechanical systems.
  • Set up and operate test equipment to test complex equipment using established procedures, schematics, and relevant documentation, which may include vibration and thermal cycle testing.
  • Troubleshoot complex equipment by utilizing schematics and in-depth knowledge of the assigned technology, systems, and components.
  • Test, calibrate, adjust, and maintain measuring and indicating instruments to ensure they meet set standards.
  • Perform repair and overhaul services for assigned technology.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned, with the authority to execute all assigned tasks.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 18 years of age at joining.
  • Possess a 2‑year technical degree/certificate in a related discipline, equivalent military education/training, or at least 2 years of industry experience, with a minimum of 3 years of related job experience.
  • Prior experience using DMM (Digital Multimeter) and Oscilloscope.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding technical information and instructions, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capable of lifting/moving materials up to 35 pounds, working with hazardous materials, and working overtime as required.
Desired Skills / Experience
  • Proficient in using a personal computer to navigate online documents, drawings, and instructions.
  • At least 3 years of related job experience.
  • Experience working in a team‑oriented environment.
  • Requirement to access U.S. export‑controlled information; must be a U.S. Person (citizen, permanent resident, asylee or refugee).
