Job summary

Charter Next Generation, Inc. is hiring a Maintenance Technician for a 12-hour night shift in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. The role focuses on mechanical and basic electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and preventive tasks within a manufacturing environment.

You will document work in CMMS, follow safety practices, and grow technical skills under senior technicians. The schedule is 12-hour nights (6:00pm–6:00am) with limited work days each month.

Qualifications

• Able to work 12-hour shifts and lift up to 65 pounds.
• 2-5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Experience with PLCs, drives and industrial controls is desired.
• Willingness to pass pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance support for production equipment and auxiliary systems.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and identify root causes.
• Perform preventative maintenance and document work orders in CMMS.
• Read equipment manuals and schematics to perform service tasks.
• Record parts usage accurately in CMMS and reports.

The Role

This role supports plant operations by performing essential mechanical and basic electrical maintenance tasks. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting equipment, completing preventative maintenance, and accurately documenting work using CMMS tools. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, adherence to safe work practices, and the ability to grow technical skills under guidance from senior technicians.

Schedule: Work only 15 days per month with our unique 2-2-3 schedule

• 12-hour static shifts (Nights - 6:00pm - 6:00am)

What You'll Do

• Provide support for emergency or unplanned repairs of production equipment and auxiliary systems.
• Troubleshoot basic to complex mechanical and electrical issues. Must show ability to get to the root cause and make and implement recommendations to improve reliability.
• Perform Preventative Maintenance on production and support equipment and make recommendations for improvement.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and schematic prints (electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical) to perform required maintenance and service
• Record and submit accurate work order data and parts usage using the CMMS system
• May assist or support contractors on major installation or retrofit projects Follow Electrical Safe Work Practices as outlined by NFPA 70E
• Maintaining a safe workspace and commitment to following CNG's Safety Mission

What You'll Bring

Essential Qualifications:

• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and lift up to 65 pounds
• Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort with measuring tools
• Strong communication skills and positive attitude
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a technical environment
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening
• 2-5 years of industrial maintenance experience
• Experience with PLC's, drives and industrial controls is desired
• Basic computer knowledge
• Previous manufacturing experience
• Wages ranging from $25.00 - $30.00 per hour, dependent on experience.
• $2.50 per hour Night Shift Differential
