Job summary

MacLean Power Systems (MPS) is seeking a Maintenance Technician 1 to apply electrical and mechanical skills to help achieve production goals. The role involves troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues, wiring, and assisting with facility maintenance in a team environment.

The candidate should have accreditation from a technical school or 2+ years of experience, with a focus on safety and documentation. Overtime may be required as part of the schedule.

Qualifications

• Accreditation from a technical school or skilled trades program or 2+ years of experience.
• Ability to interpret and follow work instructions with basic problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic technical assistance and resolution when electrical or engineering problems are encountered before, during and after construction.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical problems with the team.
• Work with fabrication and project crews as needed.
• Wire and troubleshoot single-phase as well as 3-phase power supplies and motors.
• Be responsible for helping in all facility and building maintenance.
• Work with the PM crew if needed.
• Conduct daily oil and lubrication checks on machinery.
• Learn from senior techs to understand more complex electrical issues.
• Complete all necessary documents accurately.
• Adhere to 5S standards and safety, environmental and quality policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Work scheduled overtime as needed.

Job Duties

• Provide basic technical assistance and resolution when electrical or engineering problems are encountered before, during and after construction.
• Will work with team to trouble shoot mechanical and basic electrical problems.
• Will work with fabrication and project crew when needed.
• Will wire and trouble shoot single phase as well as 3 phase power supplies and motors.
• Will be responsible for helping in all facility and building maintenance.
• Will work with the PM crew if needed.
• Will conduct daily oil and lube checks on machinery as needed.
• Will work with senior techs daily to learn and understand more complex electrical issues.
• Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately.
• Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
• Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Will work scheduled overtime as needed.

Experience and Education

• Perform work under direct supervision.
• Handle basic issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff.
• Possess beginning to work knowledge of subject matter.
• Typically require accreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program or 2+ years of experience.
