• Assists with repairing and installing various electrical equipment including generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, and conduit systems.

• Uses various welding equipment for lay out and fitting, including making jigs and fixtures.
• Diagnoses and corrects trouble in the electrical system or equipment, applying standard computations related to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
• Performs visual and mechanical inspections to confirm machinery is in good condition, ensuring the production of finished quality products according to order specifications.
• Follows the preventive maintenance program and conducts equipment inspections, taking preventive action when necessary.
• Maintains buildings, performing minor repairs.
• Notifies management regarding the need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
• Contributes to continuous improvement efforts in work area.
• May be assigned additional projects or duties as designated by Team Leader.

Job Description

This position sits within our Fortify Building Solutions business, which serves the pre-engineered metal buildings, metal roof and wall systems, and steel building components industry.

Base pay rate is $26.00 - $31.00 per hour

1st Shift Hours: 6:00AM - 2:00PM, hours may vary depending on operations

We are seeking a dependable, motivated, and team-oriented Maintenance Technician to work in our plant. This position is responsible for maintaining a variety of different machines, equipment & forklifts. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, positive attitude, mechanical aptitude, and a team first mindset, take initiative and own their work, while communicating with respect.

KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Understands and follows all safety rules and precautions necessary for working in and around a manufacturing environment
• Assists with repairing and installing various electrical equipment including generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, and conduit systems. Works with blueprints drawings, layouts, verbal instructions and other specifications
• Uses various welding equipment (arc, acetylene, brazing, flame cutting) for lay out and fitting, including making jigs and fixtures
• Diagnoses and corrects trouble in the electrical system or equipment, applying standard computations related to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment
• Performs visual and mechanical inspections to confirm machinery is in good condition, ensuring the production of finished quality products according to order specifications
• Follows the preventive maintenance program as established by the company and conducts equipment inspections, taking preventive action when necessary
• Maintains buildings, performing minor repairs
• Notifies management regarding the need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment
• Contributes to continuous improvement efforts in work area
