Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking aMaintenance Mechanic to join the Fortify Building Solutions team in California. The role involves installing, diagnosing, and repairing electrical equipment, following safety rules and manufacturer specifications.

You will work with blueprints and schematics, perform preventive maintenance, and contribute to continuous improvement. Overtime and varied shift lengths may apply; candidate should be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Competenze

• Minimum of 1-3 years of related work experience in a maintenance mechanic function.
• Preferred experience as an Electrical Controls Technician in an industrial setting.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70E, NEC and OSHA standards.

Job Description

JOB DETAILS

Base pay rate is $28.50 - $32.90 per hour

Shift Hours: 5:00AM - 1:30PM, hours may vary depending on operations.

This position sits within our Fortify Building Solutions business, which serves the pre-engineered metal buildings, metal roof and wall systems, and steel building components industry.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Understands and follows all safety rules and precautions necessary for working with hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical apparatus
• Deals with complex factors and makes decisions based on conclusions and findings
• Installs and repairs various electrical equipment, including generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units and conduit systems. Works with blueprints, drawings, layouts, verbal instructions and other specifications
• Uses different welding equipment (arc, acetylene, brazing, and flame cutting) for lay out and fitting, including making jigs and fixtures
• Uses electricians’ hand tools and measuring/testing equipment
• Diagnoses and corrects trouble in the electrical system or equipment, applying standard computations related to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment
• Performs visual and mechanical inspections to maintain machinery in good condition ensuring the production of finished quality products to order specifications
• Follows the preventive maintenance program established by the company and conducts equipment inspections, taking preventative action when necessary
• Performs minor and major repairs on buildings
• Notifies management concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment
• Provides on-the-job direction to new maintenance mechanics and others assisting in maintenance work
• Contributes to continuous improvement efforts in work area
• Ensure compliance of applicable Safety Standards and procedures
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment
• Ensure good housekeeping in work areas
• Enter equipment repair history and close out work orders
• Update repair procedures if needed
• May be assigned additional projects or duties

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or recognized equivalent
• Minimum of 1-3years of related work experience in a maintenance mechanic function, or equivalent related experience
• Preferred experienceas an Electrical Controls Technician in an industrial manufacturing facility
• Demonstrated commitment to electrical safety, strong troubleshooting skills, decision making skills, problem analysis and conflict management skills, particularly in pressure situations
• Knowledge of NFPA 70E, NEC and applicable OSHA standards
• Proficient in reading and understanding electrical diagrams and technical manuals
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist

Additional Information

This is a position with the potential overtime. The shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours long depending on work orders for the day and season of the year.
