Job summary

Vest Residential is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Norfolk, VA to perform technical and mechanical work ensuring the property's buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas meet company standards for safety and functionality.

You will diagnose defects, complete work orders, handle make-ready tasks for vacant units, manage inventory, and assist with routine inspections and safety compliance. The role includes on-call duties and a $1,000 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• EPA Type I/II or Universal refrigerant recycling certification.
• Valid state/local licenses as required by jurisdictions.
• Valid driver’s license to operate a golf cart on the property.
• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent training/experience.

Responsibilities

• Completes work orders from resident requests and preventative maintenance per policies and codes.
• Prepares vacant apartments via make-ready process and coordinates scheduling with vendors.
• Tracks inventory, requests re-orders, and notifies supervisor of supplies needed.
• Completes documentation for service requests and maintains records.
• Maintains grounds and common areas, performs cleaning, painting, and minor repairs as needed.
• Supports cost-cutting by repairing rather than replacing parts when feasible.
